I felt like doing a concept based around the shape of an anvil. So I made a little creature who's food source is probably little rodents and such, and like an armedillo, has formed a huge spike on its head to fend off predators. This took about 3 hours from start to finish. Done with prismacolor markers and black pen at first then photoshop cs 1 for digital painting. Any crits and thoughts are most welcome and appreciated.

Also, I have been getting a lot of emails from fellow artists about tips and things that I might know about digital painting. So I am trying to keep tabs on all my paintings that I can, so I am going to post a small step by step with my pics from now on in case anyone cares to see my process.

This is a quick sketch I did of wolverine. I am going to do a little set of sketches right after I finish up the magic cards, thats freaking right, magic cards! that im working on Its been a dream of mine to do some for the longest time and wizards is giving me the chance to do some. I wanted to post something so everyone knows that I am actually alive since I havent posted for the last like 2 months. I have just been working on actual commisions and I am not able to show them till they are released, which is killing me cause its some of the best work I have done. So to get some more freelance work in comics I am going to do a bunch of these types of sketches and a couple finished pieces in my spare time with comic character themes. Anyhoot, this was done in photoshop CS 1. Any crits are most welcome and appreciated.

Why do they call it Snake Mountain?

I did a landscape study of a mountain range at sunset and wanted to put to practice what I learned from studying it. So I started a random sketch painting and this snake shape kind of emerged from it then just ran from there. Done in photoshop cs and a little in painter. I think I might do some more concepts based on the idea of giant mythical creatures. Like the world is made up of them, and the only time they will move is if awakened or something. Maybe earthquakes happen when they're having a bad dream and do that kick thing in there sleep. Ever do that?...I freaking hate it when I do. Anyway, about 5-6 days in photoshop/painter. All crits and commments are most welcome and appreciated as always.

This is a concept of what I think the soul collector would like for hell. His name is Kalchein. Not to be confused with the reaper, he is not the one who kills the people, just takes their souls. I think of him as the reapers best bud who chills with him at the end of the day to enjoy a nice cold one. There are tags all over him, one for each soul he has to collect. He stores them inside his robe...and you dont want to know whats in that thing..(penises...shh). Any hoot, about a day and a half in photoshop cs and painter.
